Gaming is one of the most interesting hobbies around the world. The gaming industry has been growing, expanding, and changing over the years. So, what are the most important people in the video gaming industry? There are many legends and individuals who have made a great difference in this domain. It is true that we don’t have access to all their names but, nevertheless, I’ll do my best to relive some of their contributions throughout the years for our own better understanding.

He is the founder of Nintendo. This man is the motivation for many of the games we have played such as Super Mario Brothers, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Super Mario Galaxy, and more. He is a very important gaming icon so he deserves to be on the list. He enacted the release of all early Nintendo consoles such as the NES, SNES, N64, Wii, etc.

This man is the designer of the most well-known game character of all time, Mario. You should know this man is the reason many people got into gaming in the first place and has created the biggest gaming icon in history. It’s like if you walk up to someone on the street and ask them who Mario is, they don’t need gaming context, their brain snaps to it!
John Carmack
He is the man behind 3D video games. John Carmack is an American game programmer and also a virtual reality engineer. Moreover, he is one of the mastermind programmers behind Oculus VR, Doom, Sims, etc.
Will Wright
He incredibly helped the video game industry jump-start. Ahead of that, Will Wright developed the Sims series which is one of the best-selling series of games in existence, and also invented Spore, which was widely popular upon release and still is today.
Ralph H. Baer
He is the primary video game console creator as he created Pong, which was the first video game console ever widely tested and he is the pioneer of very early video game development and production. Ralph H. Baer is one of the founding fathers behind video games, and it would be stupid not to have him on the list.

He is the creator of the best-selling console of all time. He is the man behind the existence of Playstation2 which got millions of people into video games with just this one console and many games along with it. This started a large chain reaction among people and that’s the reason why he’s on this list.

He is the owner & creator of Sony. His generation offered an outlet to small game developers and helped jump-start their game development business. Also, the nephew of a Sony founder started as head of a regional gaming unit, after the Japanese electronics giant sailed past the 10 million mark in sales of its PlayStation 4.

He is the CEO of Apple Inc. and has gotten many people into the video game industry with the release of Apple’s devices, which attracted consumers and gave them something to play video games on easier. It also gave a place for small game developers to put their games, such as on the Apple App Store, which helps them to express their game’s intuitive ideas. He is on this list because he opens the door for so many developers that want to sell their games, it’s incredible!
Satoru Iwata
He was the chief executive officer of Nintendo. He also directed the development of Nintendo, which directed the design and marketing of Nintendo consoles. Nintendo consoles are in the top three on the marketplace, along with Microsoft and Sony, which was initiated by this man, Satoru Iwata. Satoru played a very significant role in the areas of game production.
